It is the end of what has been a very busy and what has seemed a very long term. However it has been a term where much has been achieved.

In March we welcomed Kathy Lye and Marge Wong from ERO to complete a review of the school. This was a positive time for the school to reflect on the progress made to improve outcomes for our students. The report is due out early in term two.

2016 has seen the introduction of three new leadership roles across the school. Curriculum Leaders will be responsible for ensuring high quality teaching and learning across the school. Mike Bennet will oversee Years 11 - 13, Kate Atchison Years 7 - 10 and Jo Kennard Years 1 - 6.

I wanted to acknowledge two of our staff who have been undertaking further study to be able support our students with specific learning needs. Megan Fidler is studying Postgraduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching (ASD endorsement). Morag Carver has completed SPELD training and both she hand Megan are training to be Specific Learning Disabilities assessors.

With the introduction of the Vulnerable Childrens Act and new Health and Safety at Work Act, staff have been upskilling by completing a course in Safeguarding Children. We also had John Parsons an Internet Safety and Risk Assessment Consultant present to staff about keeping ourselves and our students safe.

Students have been working steadily, with the support of their teachers, to achieve the goals they have set themselves and a number will be transitioning back to their regular school for the start of the new term. We wish you well.

I would like to wish you all a safe and relaxing break an look forward to seeing you all when we return on 2 May.
