Welcome to Term 3.
I always think that Term 3 is such a hopeful term. As the days get longer and spring approaches after a cold winter if feels as though achieving our goals becomes a certainty rather than just a possibility.

Welcome back to all our current students and their families, we look forward to supporting you to continue your education and to become engaged, connected and resilient. We also welcome two new staff members, Anika Barclay (Youth Social Worker) and Heather Scott (Teacher) both based in Christchurch.

On 29 – 30 July the school will be closed for teachers to gather together in Christchurch to participate in Professional Learning so that have the skills and knowledge necessary to help their students achieve their goals.

Many of our students will be preparing to achieve their NCEA goals this term. Fees for this will need to be paid either to us or the student’s regular school as soon as possible by the 25 August at the latest.

On 10 September the Board of Trustees will be holding a community meeting on the West Coast in Greymouth. We look forward to meeting with you all.

Our roll continues to grow and currently sits at around 260 students across the South Island. We would like to remind you of our enrolment criteria so that you are aware of the ways we can support students.

I wish you well for the term ahead.

Nāku, nā
