This year we have continued to work towards ensuring that all students with high health needs are able to maintain their learning even while they are unwell.

This has seen teachers working in new locations; with Sally based in Timaru teaching across South Canterbury and Sarah in Rangiora teaching across North Canterbury. We have also provided local teachers in geographically spread locations including Cromwell, Alexandra, Queenstown, Wanaka, Balclutha and Golden Bay, while maintaining our teaching in the main centres.

Our students have had some outstanding achievements. On 28 November we celebrated this at our awards assembly. The Principal’s Award recognises outstanding effort and achievement despite the difficult circumstances our students face. Congratulations to those who received awards and to all of our students for the progress they made in 2014.

Our goal to inspire and enrich quality continuous individualised learning would not be possible without our team of dedicated teachers and support staff. Thank you.

I would also like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our school community, families and health professionals who have helped our students to be engaged, connected and resilient.

Finally I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and a safe and relaxing summer.
